AB43 CONTEMPORARY - a gallery as well as a cultural network - is the result of an initiative by Heidi and Franz J. Leupi.
Since 30 years Heidi and Franz J. Leupi have been active in the international art business, looking after artists and organising exhibitions in Europe, the Middle East, Iran, North and South America and Asia.
"AB" stands for Across Borders and is a commitment to a gallery activity that, in addition to the trade and mediation of works, is also committed to promoting artists and a cultural exchange between the various countries. This is also the reason why the ORYX Foundation was founded back in 2009.
AB FINEART AG was first set up as AB GALLERY and renamed AB43 CONTEMPORARY in summer 2016.
The ORYX foundation was founded in 2011 as a non-profit foundation based in Lucerne.
On the one hand, the ORYX foundation creates concepts as "Artists in Residence" programs to promote artists from different cultural areas. On the other hand, the ORYX foundation provides a forum for credible information. Therefore ORYX offers lectures and discussions including experts on topics based on exchange and development of different cultures.
